What we believe

(this is a short summary for a full statement of faith, click here)

  • in one God who exists in three persons the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
  • that God created us to worship Him and to know Him personally
  • that this relationship was cut off because we sinned
  • that Jesus came, fully man and fully God, to die for our sin and to restore the relationship between God and us
  • that anyone who believes in Jesus gets a new life with the Holy Spirit living in them so that they can have a relationship with God. We can have this relationship with God not because of all the good things we do, but because of God’s great gift to us which we can receive by faith.
  • that anyone who has this relationship with God, is called not to live for themselves but for God, and to tell others about Jesus. They will also start to become more like Jesus, because of the Holy Spirit who lives in them, not by their own efforts.

Our Vision

Soilse in Irish means lights. We took this from Phillipians 2:15 which says:
"that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world" (ESV)

We hope to encourage teenagers to be lights in their community; that they can shine, even when they may be living in rural areas where there are no churches or youth groups, or support from other Christians their age. No matter what someone’s situation may be we strongly believe that God is calling us teenagers, and all Christians, to tell everyone they know that they believe in Jesus, and to share the gospel with them. We also believe that it is teenagers' responsibility as youth to set an example to others in speech, life, love, faith and purity (1 Timothy 4:12). Compromise is not an option. Our vision as a website is to encourage the Irish Christian youth in their faith, to cause them to grow so that they glorify God in this country and become more like our Saviour Jesus Christ.

We also hope to connect Irish Christian Youth with each other so that they may act as one, we also would love to connect Irish Youth by informing them of all the different youth events that take place around the country. It is surprising how many different youth events take place in Ireland and how few people know of them.
